i was always a fan of the cover art on the vintage Halloween novels. until recently,i did not know that the pumpkin on this version of the 1979 Halloween cover was based on a real item. i found a match(a few of them actually)by accident while searching out vintage Halloween stuff. how i never saw this old blow mold pumpkin before is a mystery because when i saw this one the other day i recognized it right away. it's a 13 inch tall trick or treat pail. the design is almost certainly from the 1960s,and probably continued into the 70s.. which makes sense for the 1979 artwork. its a dead on match to the pumpkin on the cover. interesting vintage Halloween find.
That's really cool, love the look of the vintage Halloween blow molds. Definitely looks like the design they referenced for the cover
