i was always a fan of the cover art on the vintage Halloween novels. until recently,i did not know that the pumpkin on this version of the cover was based on a real item. i found a match by accident while searching out vintage Halloween stuff. how i never saw this old blow mold pumpkin before is a mystery because when i saw this one the other day i recognized it right away. it's a 13 inch tall trick or treat pail. the design is almost certainly from the 1960s,and probably continued into the 70s.. which makes sense for the 1979 artwork. its a dead on match to the pumpkin on the cover. interesting vintage Halloween find.
